Alberta woman survives two weeks in the woods

Two weeks, travelling through rough muskeg and thick trees, an Alberta woman living to tell her tale.

Rhonda Cardinal, reported missing August 1 from the Calling Lake area, was located Wednesday morning more than 20 kilometres from the remote cabin where she was last seen.

The 41-year old flagged down a Huksy Oil employee who was en route to his work site along the road, and was then transported to hospital by a contracted helicopter.

Cardinal sustained only minor injuries.

Athabasca RCMP say her family was extremely pleased and grateful to hear that she had been located alive.
