Albertans are hoping to retire debt ree at age 62.

A Harris Decima poll found only 18% of provincial residents expect they will be in the red when they leave work, with 44% of middle-aged respondents certain they will have enough money to sustain themselves through their golden years.

Though Alberta residents may be optimistic about meeting their savings goals, only 18% of provincial baby boomers are currently debt free.
