Benefit to be held for local man recovering from life saving surgery
A 24 year old Fort McMurray man is recovering from a life-changing brush with death.
In February, Brady Polson collapsed with chest pains, while working as an engineer at Suncor, his aorta, the body's main artery, had torn, from his chest to his stomach.
Brady's mother, Karen says it was heartwrenching to see her son on the brink.
"The scariest moment was when they airlifted him to U of A hospital and we didn't know if he was going to make it to the other end or not, he was in very very serious condition, and as you can imagine, your aorta dissecting is very serious," said Polson.
Polson had complications from a nine and half hour surgery, and one of his legs has since been amputated.
The family is hosting a benefit Saturday at the Den.
Doors open at 6pm.
