Car Accident Sends Six-Year-Old To Hospital

A car collision in the Fort McKay First Nation has left one six-year-old kid in hospital.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say around 8:30 p.m. on July 10, a GMC Terrain Sport Utility Vehicle hit the boy who was on a bicycle at an uncontrolled intersection.

The six year old child was transported by Wood Buffalo Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital and eventually airlifted to Edmonton.

He’s currently in stable condition and is being treated for serious injuries.

The 78 year old woman driving the car was also transported to the hospital.

Police note the collision is still under investigation.
