CMA wants public debate on end-of-life issues

The Canadian Medical Association calling for improved palliative care.

The agency adopted a motion Thursday to foster a public debate and develop a  comprehensive framework for end-of-life care policies.

The CMA says only 16 per cent of terminally ill Canadians have access to adequate health care in their final days.

During their annual meeting in Yellowknife, the CMA also passed a resolution supporting full coverage for all forms of contraception.
