CMHA-Wood Buffalo Hosting Golf Tournament For First Responders

The Canadian Mental Health Association-Wood Buffalo has announced its ‘First Responders Golf Tournament.’

The event is one of the biggest CMHA Wood Buffalo has ever seen and gives residents a chance to thank those First Responders for all they do.

Marketing and Community Education Strategist for CMHA Wood Buffalo Jasmeen Toor tells Fort McMurray News the tournament is open to the public.

“All the funds raised through the tournament are going to stay right here in the RMWB and help to put on mental health programs and classes right here in town.”

Toor adds that the donations will all go toward programs to help CMHA Wood Buffalo appeal to the community.

She says this is also a chance to meet those who’ve put their lives on the line every day.

“Whoever wants to come and hang out with the first responders and kind of engage with them. It’s open to everyone but we have a lot of first responders coming so that means, police, fire, paramedics, everybody.”

Spots are filling fast to compete in the tournament.

Tickets are still on sale to compete in the tournament which takes place at the Fort McMurray Golf Club on June 30th.
