Collision Sends Six-Year-Old Boy To Hospital

A collision in the Fort McKay First Nation has left a six-year-old boy in hospital.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say on Tuesday around 8:30 p.m., a GMC Terrain Sport Utility Vehicle hit the boy who was on a bicycle at an uncontrolled intersection.

The child was transported by Wood Buffalo Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital and eventually airlifted to Edmonton.

He’s currently in stable condition and is being treated for serious injuries.

The 78-year-old woman driving the car was also transported to the hospital.

Police continue to investigate.
