Striving for a seventh straight score of five out of five blooms, Fort McMurray is hosting a pair of Communities in Bloom judges today and Tuesday.
They'll be taken around some of the city's highlights including athletic facilities, the eco-industrial park and Heritage Park.
Competing against Granby, Quebec and Sarnia, Ontario in the over 50,001 population category, Fort McMurray will be judged on six criteria including tidiness, environmental awareness, landscape and floral displays.
Community Beautification Coordinator Karen Puga says in the past, judges have been pleasantly surprised by what they see in the region, after often hearing negative outside perceptions.
Results will be announced in mid-October.
