Conklin man facing charges after police shooting

A 33-year old Conklin man is facing charges stemming from a RCMP officer involved shooting.
Ray Charles Pruden was shot by police in Conklin last month and spent weeks recovering from undisclosed injuries in hospital.
Wood Buffalo RCMP announced today that he has been charged with several offenses including assault on a police officer with a weapon as well as firearms related charges.
Police were called to a home in Conklin late on the night of Jan. 8 after neighbors reported hearing the sound of gunshots.
Four Mounties arrived on scene and were confronted by an armed exiting the residence, as a result he was shot by police then rushed to hospital.
Three other people at the residence were taken into custody for questioning.
One of them was treated on scene by EMS for minor injuries after being tased while police were restraining him.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has concluded their investigation of the officer-involved shooting.
Pruden is due in court Mar. 7.
