Distracted driving could be a thing of the past in Alberta
Some of Canada's most comprehensive distracted driving legislation was introduced by the province Wednesday.
Bill 16 proposes a ban on the use of hand-held cell phones and activities including texting, reading writing and personal grooming while behind the wheel.
A fine ranging from 172 to 402 dollars for violating the law has also been proposed.
Bill 16 is expected to be debated in the legislature this fall.
