Fort McMurray Man Charged For Trying to Traffick Cocaine Into Country

A 26-year-old Fort McMurray man is facing a number of charges after allegedly trying to bring narcotics into the country.

On March 17, the Canada Border Services Agency pulled over a vehicle at the Carway Border. While searching the vehicle, they found 31 bricks of cocaine, weighing around 31 kg.

The CBSA says this is the largest seizure ever done at the border crossing.

The man was arrested while the drugs and vehicle were both seized.

Two days later, RCMP charged Bradley Michael Gaudrault with two counts under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He is expected to make his first court appearance in Lethbridge on March 22.
