Head on collision shuts down Highway 63

Fort McMurray RCMP, Alberta Sheriffs and Emergency Services are currently responding to a head on collision on Highway 63 involving a Semi Truck and a Jeep that occurred at approximately 12:20 PM this afternoon.
A third Semi obtained minor damages as well.
The Highway is currently blocked due to this collision.
The collision occurred South of Fort McMurray between the highway 881 turnoff and Stony Mountain road.
The location of the collision is not on the two lane highway and therefore both North and Southbound lanes are blocked at this time.
The lone male occupant of the Jeep has been transported to the hospital
for serious injuries.
The drivers of the Semi's are not injured.
This cause of this collision is still under investigation. At this
time, RCMP do not believe alcohol to be a factor. Highway 63 is
currently blocked due to this collision. It is advised that persons who are traveling South take Highway 881. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
