Ad-Hoc firing range posing risk to Tower Road fire crews

The RMWB is asking citizens to refrain from using firearms near wooded areas after reports of an ad-hoc firing range along Tower Road.

A municipal spokesperson says crews are still working in the area to put out active fire spots, which pose no risk to the region. The discharge of firearms is putting those crews in danger, the spokesperson added.

The Tower Road region was severely damaged by “The Beast” and crews have been working to clear 100 feet of trees close to Confederation Way to act as a fire break for the future.
