Yet another Western politician , taking the offensive on remarks made by the New Democrats national leader.
Fort McMurray-Athabasca MP Brian Jean says Thomas Mulcair's criticism of the oil sands is illogical and motivated by a political desire to see the country polarized.
"I went to see Disney Land before I started criticising, I went to Hawaii before I started to love it, the situation is how can you criticise something accurately without actually seeing it firsthand, well he can say that its the reports he's complaining about, well that's not the truth, that's not the reality, he's complaining because politically is plays to the division he is seeking in our country," said Jean, who argues Mulcair should turn his attentions from the so-called attack and focus on increased cooperation in Ottawa.
Mulcair is in Fort McMurray tomorrow visiting oil sands operations at Suncor and is also set to meet with Wood Buffalo Mayor Melissa Blake.
Mulcair has come under fire for blaming the oil sands industry for falsely inflating the loonie and causing job casualties coast to coast.
