Mayor Melissa Blake admits she's a little nervous prior to appearing live on national TV tonight.
Mayor Blake will join six other panelists on "In Conversation with Macleans", a political road show that stops in four Canadian cities.
Tonight, it's Calgary, with the focus on the West.
Mayor Blake said she's eager to tell the rest of Canada about our region and our importance.
"My reaction turned from nervous apprehension to a bit of excitement, on how I can better represent our community and our image," she said.
"In terms of this panel of discussion, as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, I think we definitely do (have relevance)."
The show starts at 7 pm and also features Alberta's Minister of Culture and Community Spirit Lindsay Blackett and Maclean's National Editor and Senior Columnist Andrew Coyne and Paul Wells.
