Local coffee lovers give double-double drive-thru mixed reviews
Like their caffeine choices, Fort McMurray residents have different opinions on the new double-double drive thru at Tim Hortons.
Opened yesterday, the two lanes are aimed at keeping traffic from spilling onto Thickwood Boulevard.
"It's absolutely beneficial, I mean it's probably even going to decrease some speeding on the highway, you know, people aren't going to be rushing after they get their coffee to get to work, it might free up a few minutes there," Ryan Buis told Fort McMurray News Wednesday.
Jacosa Limbert doesn't think it will speed things up, "I don't think it will move faster because they still only have the one window so I think it's going to be the same, I just think it's now creating two lanes to get people off the road."
Thickwood Tim Hortons owner Wayne Bigelow says they are trying to be as fast as possible, while staying safe.
A similiar design is in place for the downtown Tim Hortons.
