The Saline Creek Area Structure plan seemed to be the biggest bone of contention at last night's Municipal Council meeting.
The new artery would connect from the Draper Road area and Highway 69 down to waterways, and would act as an alternate route to highway 63.
After more than two hours of debate, council took a vote and approved Option 1 in the report...
Draper road residents appear to be supporting the plan as it means a major facelift to their road...
However Waterways residents in attendance were leary on this option to say the least... as it would mean more traffic to their part of the city.

Local student Sean Graham kicked off the council meeting with a presentation on banning the use of plastic bags in our city...
The student brought a petition with more than 22-hundred local signatures on it, with a hope that council could make a decision in one month.
Council has referred it back to administration, and will come back to it in a few weeks.

And the Youth in the Community might be getting some good news in two weeks as the Stepping Stones Youth Home Committee took the seat to look for 200-thousand in funding from the Municipality.
Council say they will have a decision made at the next public council meeting on September 9th.
