MasterCard and Visa are blaming a third party for a potential security breach on customer accounts.

Reports indicate that card processor Global Payments may be the company to have been hacked, after the company's stock fell nine per cent today.

The two largest global credit card companies say that their own systems have not been compromised, and have yet to announce how many people may be affected as a result.
