Minor Accident Involving Plane Closes Conklin Airport

A collision between an airplane and two deer is closing the Conklin Airstrip for the next 24-hours.

On Tuesday, a Sun West Dash aircraft struck the animals after landing on the runway.

The flight was carrying 43 passengers and four crew members.

None of the people inside the plane were injured as there was only damage to the aircraft.

Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to the airport while the Transport Safety Board was also contacted.

Meanwhile, Sun West will assess the damage before they start making repairs and allow anyone to fly the plane.
