After weeks of back-and-forth with Western premiers, it appears Thomas Mulcair is heading to Fort McMurray.

The Federal NDP Leader has come under attack for saying the oil sands industry is inflating the loonie and therefore causing job casualties in the manufacturing sector.

And while Mulcair is not backing down from his stance, he did say yesterday that he is planning a trip to Alberta to visit the oil sands for the first time and meet with Premier alison Redford.
