The recently elected Wood Buffalo council will sit down for their first official meeting tonight.
The agenda begins with a first reading of the Riverbend Point Area Structure Plan. Riverbend Point is a private initiative that proposes a community of 10,000 people over three phases, on 203 hectares of land east of Abasand Heights across the Horse River.
Administration currently does not support the approval of an Area Structure Plan, but Council may vote to proceed to a public hearing stage.
Council will also vote whether or not to re-designate six properties along Cliff Avenue in Waterways from Environmental Protection District to Mixed Form Single Detached Residential District.
