Nexen Long Lake back up to full production

The Alberta Energy Regulator is opening up another 10 pipelines for operation at Nexen's Long Lake site.

Those 10 pipelines transport steam, natural gas, and oilsands emulsion.

And according to Nexen, that means Long Lake can resume 100% of its operations.

Back on September 6, 40 out of 95 pipelines were brought back online by the AER, allowing Nexen to ramp back up to 75% capacity.

The Regulator says it's satisfied with the current operating conditions, as well as Nexen's action plan that includes daily inspections, more testing and monitoring, and reported results.

It was back at the end of August that the suspension order was issued, suspending 15 licenses and effectively shutting down production at Long Lake after noncompliance with the Pipeline Act was identified.
