A harrowing night for five people en route from Fort McMurray to Fort Chipewyan.
The group was aboard a McMurray Aviation Cessna 206 when it lost power Thursday.
The pilot successfully negotiated a landing in the bush 110 miles north of Fort McMurray.
A new emergency locator transmitter which had recently been installed in the plane immediately notified company operations.
A helicopter arrived on site after two hours and everyone was retrieved safely and flown back to Fort McMurray.
The company says there were no injuries.
Transportation Canada in conjuction with McMurray Aviation will collect the aircraft and determine the cause of the engine failure.
