Police Investigating Threats Made to Anzac High School

Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating a threat made to a school in Anzac.

On Tuesday evening, police were made aware of a possible threat directed at Bill Woodward High School.

Communication Coordinator for Northland School Division NO 61. Curtis Walty tells Fort McMurray News students were back in school on Wednesday but under their hold and secure protocol.

“If it was a lockdown the school day wouldn’t have gone as normal, everyone would have had to stay in one place.”

RCMP are also increasing their presence around the community but believe there is no risk for staff or students.

At this time, the Mounties aren’t going into details only that it appeared to be unsubstantiated and coming from outside the province.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at 780-788-4000.
