Police Prepare To Resume Search For Woman Missing 14 Years

Wood Buffalo RCMP are continuing the search for a Fort McMurray woman – who’s been missing since 2004.

It has been 14 years since 49-year-old Elaine Alook was last seen or heard from and the Mounties believe they’ve exhausted all leads.

Back in October, Elaine’s brother Wilbert decided to organize search efforts in a forested area near Anzac, about 50km southeast of Fort McMurray.

A mother of four, Elaine was known to frequent those areas, as well as Grand Prairie, Lac La Biche and Edmonton.

She’s described as indigenous, with black hair, brown eyes, standing 5' 3", weighing around 135 pounds – and at the time of her disappearance – she had a broken left arm.

Alook was also last seen wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt, running shoes and a black jacket.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is encouraged to contact Wood Buffalo RCMP.
