Provincial Government Putting Trans Mountain Pipeline Billboards Across B.C.

The provincial government is getting up and close with the residents of British Columbia over the Trans Mountain Pipeline.

Billboards are now up across the province highlighting the importance of the expansion project.

Premier Rachel Notley says their campaign will help remind Canadians what’s at stake if the project falls through – around $15 billion taken away annually from the economy due to lack of access to the coast.

“A lack of market access is costing Canadians good jobs. It is putting the national climate plan at risk. And it is costing Canada billions every year - money that could be paying for things like roads, schools and hospitals from coast to coast to coast.”

The advertisements focus on how the pipeline can create money for different needs, the impact it would have on the economy, how it will help on American markets, and the role it plays with Canada’s climate plan.

To date, the government has spent nearly $1.3 million on ads across the country – $700,000 in B.C.
