RCMP Searching For Fort McKay Man After Assault Left Victim In A Coma

Wood Buffalo RCMP are on the look out for a 37-year-old Fort McKay man.

A warrant for arrest has been issued for Lenny Walter Whitford after he allegedly assaulted a 33-year-old man who’s currently in a coma.

Police note they were dispatched to Fort McKay on November 2 around 10:45 p.m. after receiving a call about someone uttering threats.

When they arrived they found the victim seriously injured, along with a 37-year-old women.

The Mounties have arrested 38-year-old Percy Whitford – charging him with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offense, uttering threats against a person, and failing to comply with a probation order.

He’s scheduled to make his first court appearance in Fort McMurray on November 20.

Police are still looking for Lenny Whitford who they believe played a part in the incident.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offense, and uttering threats against a person.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts of the incident are asked to call RCMP or crime stoppers.
