RCMP traffic stops leading to drug seizures in Fort McMurray

Wood Buffalo RCMP announcing they've seized varying amounts of illegal drugs in the last few days through vehicle stops in Fort McMurray.

Police conducted a traffic stop on highway 63 Wednesday, where nearly half a pound of cocaine was confiscated.

Lone occupant of the vehicle, 26-year-old male, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to traffic.

Thursday, police conducted yet another traffic stop changing locations to the downtown area, where RCMP seized approximately 3/4 of a pound of marijuana.

Both occupants of the vehicle, a 21-year-old male and 18-year-old female were charged with several offences, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. 

Wood Buffalo RCMP are asking anyone with information on these, or other crimes, to call 780-788-4000, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
