The number of cases of scabies in work camps north of Fort McMurray has gone down significantly.
Dr. Brent Friesen with Alberta Health Services says however the risk still exists.
"There is medication that's available over the counter, through pharmacies. It's also available for people that are in the camps, it's available through their health and safety offices, through the first-aid offices.
Friesen says they are conducting routine inspections and are constantly on the lookout for the mites which cause the disease.
