Search On For Man Suspected of Downtown Robbery

Wood Buffalo RCMP are on the lookout for a man who allegedly robbed a downtown business.

Police say, around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the suspect entered a store along Franklin Avenue and stole an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

The business is being unnamed at this time, however, Corporal Teri-Ann Deobald tells Fort McMurray News the suspected robbery took place between Father Mercredi St and Alberta Drive.

No one was injured and there was no damage to the area.

He is described as 6’0” and slim build. His ethnicity is unknown at this time.

He was last seen wearing a white bandana over his face, blue jeans, and a sweatshirt with a hood.

The RCMP believe the man left on foot heading north.

They’re now looking for any witnesses or possible video surveillance to help identify the suspect. Anyone with information can contact them at 780-788-4040.
