SMS Promoting Cancer Research And Mental Health Awareness Through Coloured Boxes

SMS Equipment and KMC Mining are coming together to ask the question: are you okay?

The two companies are sparking conversation with a loud and sizable symbol promoting support of breast and prostate cancer research.

They are also hoping this helps erase the stigma surrounding mental health.

Communications Specialist Shauna Weisgerber tells Fort McMurray News they have taken boxes from two off-highway Komatsu trucks and painted them pink and blue.

“Thrilled to see this has taken off in the media. If you have a chance to watch the video, it’s so touching and absolutely moving and indicative of the spirit of both companies.”

Weisgerber adds that these cancers and mental health issues can happen to anyone and notes the importance of getting screened.

She says this campaign is SMS’s way to give back to the community and spark conversation.

"To promote awareness of these cancers and mental health and spark candid conversations that are often uncomfortable but very necessary.”

Weisgerber adds that if you think you have mental or physical health concerns, to not be afraid to reach out for help.
