A close watch of speeders on highway 63 south of the city has led to a drug bust for Wood Buffalo RCMP.
Police say they pulled over a Pontiac G6 headed northbound on Saturday, about 50 kilometers south of the city and due to evidence of drugs, the male and female inside were arrested immediately.
Police service dog Kerry was then brought in to search the vehicle and found 4.5 pounds of marijuana, and two-grand in cash.
18-year old Marie Bergin from Quebec and 22-year old Karar Jawad from Edmonton were both charged with possession and trafficking.
The pair will appear in court today.
