Suncor back to full production

Suncor is returning to full production following a precautionary shut down of the Enbridge pipeline.

Line 37 fouled a remote wetland near Anazac in June, causing the closure.

Initial estimates projected 750 barrels of light crude leaked into the remote wetland. But an ongoing investigation revealed that number is closer to 1,300 barrels.

The line was restarted earlier this month, and Suncor has been ramping up it's production as pipeline and storage capacity would allow.

Suncor production was reduced to three million barrels as a result of the pipeline interruption.

In a statement released last week, Enbridge said majority of the ruptured crude has been recovered but regulatory officials continue to monitor the scene.
