Two Pedestrians Killed Following Collision In Wood Buffalo

Two people in their 50’s are dead after a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Thickwood.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on Real Martin Drive.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say a 52-year-old woman and 56-year-old man both from Fort McMurray succumbed to their injuries shortly after the collision.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene. The Mounties say charges are pending, but have not yet been sworn before the courts.

Police aren’t releasing his name at this time.

In the meantime, traffic is still down to one lane on Real Martin Drive as RCMP Collision Analyst’s continue to investigate.
