Wildrose reveals 10/10 MSI Plan

The 10/10 MSI Plan will provide predictable, sustainable, direct funding for Alberta's cities, towns and municipal districts.

That from Wildrose Leader Brian Jean, who says the plan will allocate new funding for important regional projects.

In a statement Jean says the plan would guarantee 10 per cent of provincial tax revenue and 10 per cent of budget surpluses go to supporting Alberta's towns, cities, and municipal districts.

Jean adds because the plan is based on a fixed portion of relatively stable tax revenues, it is not subject to oil prices.

The plan outlines $1.6 billion as a direct Municipal Sustainability Initiative transfer to municipalities, a dedicated water/wastewater envelope of $110 million, and the remainder, about $300 million,
going to a Regional Infrastructure Fund.

The Wildrose revealed details of its 10/10 MSI Plan today.
