Wood Buffalo RCMP Arrest Two People, Searching For Third Suspect After Truck Stolen

Wood Buffalo RCMP have arrested two people and are searching for a third suspect who allegedly stole and crashed a pickup truck.

On Friday, the Mounties received two calls from Fort McMurray residents. One advising the suspects tried to steal a trailer with a snowmobile, but were unsuccessful. Another resident reported their 2005 blue Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck had been stolen.

RCMP spotted the truck later in Janvier. Police say when it attempted to turn down a side trail it collied with a tree. The suspects then fled on foot, but were tracked down by the Wood Buffalo Police Dog Service.

A 31-year-old man and 27-year-old woman have been arrested. The third person has yet to be located.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call RCMP at 780-788-4000.
