Accident on the bridge today, can't wait for new bridge!

Today's double car accident on bridge sucked big time, the line up was up to Beacon hill. It was just rainy today, once the temps drop and roads freeze it won't get any better.
I can't wait for the new bridge to open up.

You say you can't wait. If you don't wait what is the alternative? ;)

Move downtown or when the river freezes use snowmobile instead of a car to avoid all the traffic :D

So what is the timeline for this bridge? It looks to me like the new bridge will be taking on traffic and the Steinhauer bridge will be down for maintainence before winter hits. I'm guessing they will remove guardrails and just connect 63 to the new bridge.

ps. anyone know the name of the new bridge? Rickety Eddie Bridgeway? ;)

I have some info on the new Fort McMurray Ralph Steinhauer bridge
Original schedule looked like:
Athabasca River Bridge
New five lane bridge over the Athabasca River. Project value $139.2M.
Schedule: June 2008 to June 2011.

Widening - Athabasca River to Thickwood Blvd
Highway 63 Improvement (widening and six Laning) N. of Athabasca River Bridge 63:11 From 14.2 Km To 15.4 Km
Schedule: Tendered in Feb 2010, with scheduled completion in Autumn of 2011

But it seems like they've missed it already. Try to email ken.rebel@CH2M.com for an update.
