That's the idea. :)

I will take my time now, and compose an email to Carolyn ad Samuel, and at the very least, then I know I have done what I could.

Hi there - By the end of 2013 every municipal bus stop in Fort McMurray will have a heated shelter. It's all part of a bigger plan to promote the use of transit in Wood Buffalo. The ninth page of this document talks about the plans in detail: http://www.woodbuffalo.ab.ca/Assets/Dep ... rtment.pdf.

We're happy to talk to you about your specific circumstance. Could you please give our office a call at 780.788.2217? Ask for the supervisor of transit operations.

We have, so far, tried calling twice. Once last week, and then again today......we talk to a nice receptionist, but so far no manager has returned our call.

I know the transit group is especially busy right now. If you don't hear back please send me a PM.

Brendan....I am out of town right now, so I don't know all the details, but my husband did say a lady from transit called him back today and he had a chat with her. We'll see how it goes from there. Thanks for your interest.

Well, thats it, we are getting a 5 X 10 bus shelter on our lawn. I don't understand how there was so much discussion and open houses on our recycle bins.....and nothing on these bus shelters other than, we're putting one here! It may sound like I am complaining and that's because I am!! There is a huge differance between buying a house that has an existing bus shelter on it and knowing what you are getting, and living in a house for over 25 years and being told you are getting one.

I must say I have gone from a voting, love the City, always playing up the many good things the City has to offer, always defending the City, to one who doesn't give a crap anymore and wants to get out :(

just a quick question, do you own that spot where the bus shelter is going?
do you pay property taxes for that area that is included in your defined property purchase agreement?

The City owns the first 3 meters or so of land that runs infront of the houses. I believe it is this way for all the homes in town. Our property line only extends 24' from the front of our house. So yes, it is the Cities own property that they are building on....thus there is not much I can do about it.
