It wouldn't be that bad actually, since they will only be blocking the bypass lane, and nobody would be able see them from the interchange, so no rubber necking and open lanes, win win :)

So....Monday morning here is my dilemma......

Do I take Thickwood and risk some idiot whose never seen more than 2 lanes of traffic drive off the overpass and into the river or.....

Do I take Confed and sit in the single lane Northbound for non-bus traffic, backed up to somewhere around BP's..

Why in God's name would anyone open both up on the same day?????

I mean the overpass is going to be sweet but like the prairie creek round about it's going to take the locals a bit to get use to.....don't even get me started on the bus only lane.

Can you work from home?
How about taking a sick day and letting all the drama unfold while being in the comfort of your home.

Why the bus lane is even needed after the improvement of traffic with the 3rd lane is beyond me to begin with. All of the zig zags and loop de loops that seem to have appeared since this construction has begun has me wondering what the outcome is going to be once the roads actually get slick.

Just travelled the new Thickwood overpass from downtown up to Thickwood/Timberlea. Just like being in a big city. Doesn't feel like being in Fort McMurray, especially going over the overpass bridge and looking down on the traffic. What a rush!

Does anyone else feel there will be issues with the approach onto Thickwood blvd?

As you exit highway 63, all is well until the curve towards the overpass... theres little to no camber to the road! And across a small ditch, is opposing traffic, and, well, a little further quite a drop.. I'm not thinking the drop will be an issue, but guaranteed some hotshots going to take that too fast and end up the next talk of fortmc.. lol..

Great board btw!
