Update: Crews Continue To Search Gregoire Lake For Missing Boy

The search continues for a 16-year-old boy who fell into Gregoire Lake.

Wood Buffalo RCMP received a call for help on September 1 from a concerned boater – who says they witnessed the boy fall into the water.

Police believe he has drowned and crews are now searching for his body.

RCMP Find Trailer Full of Stolen Items

If you’ve had something recently stolen, the Wood Buffalo RCMP may have it.

During police service dog training on September 5, the Mounties saw two men loading items into a large trailer. After speaking with the individuals, they discovered that the trailer was stolen.

They later determined that all the items inside, which includes electronics and tools, were also stolen.

Empty Bowls Festival Raises Over $16K For Wood Buffalo Food Bank

Hundreds of residents braved the cold weather over the weekend to help the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.

The group held its 3rd annual ‘Empty Bowls Festival’ on Sunday where people bought locally hand-crafted bowls and tasted food from eight stations hosted by local restaurants.

The event was able to raise $16,900 and will go to the WB Food Bank. Last year, the festival was able to raise around $25,000.

Nexen Begins Construction On New Long Lake Southwest Project

After a pipeline spill in 2015 and a deadly explosion in 2016, Nexen is set to expand operations through it’s Long Lake Southwest Project.

Volunteers Search For Missing Janvier Woman

The search continues for a missing 46-year-old Janvier woman who hasn’t been seen since April.

A group of volunteers are meeting at Mrs. Tatum's old store site at the north end of the hamlet Tuesday morning in an effort to find any traces of Betty Ann Deltess.

Police Seek Public’s Help Finding Robbery Suspects

Police are looking for help identifying a pair of alleged robbery suspects.

Back on July 6, around 3:45 a.m., two males approached a business near the intersection MacDonald Avenue and Main Street in downtown Fort McMurray.

The Mounties say they were allegedly directed into a building where they assaulted another male, robbed him of his money and left him unconscious.

Pipeline Delay Will Only Hurt Canada And Alberta Economy
