Looking to move north... Are there any communities where riding my quad or snowmobile from my driveway out to the trails is considered acceptable? (are they any special by-laws addressing this?). I would love to find a property on the edge of development that would allow this, would this be possible? I had this in my old place ( a smaller town) and it was awesome.

Commute times?

How much time is saved by living in Timberlea/Thickwood compared to Abasand if I am working north of the city (say Mackay or Firebag)?

I have been here for over 30 years and have lived in Absand, Waterways, down town near the hosiptal and the low rises, thickwood near the Ymca, timblea and now in Egale ridge.
I would live in each area except absand again (lots of crime and vandalism in that area)
I really like eagle ridge, I back onto the birtchwood trails, fast to get downtown, fast to get to thickwood, fast to get to timblea, and esay go north to work.

Check out Woodbuffalo where is between Thickwood and Timberla. Newer houses, larger lots, house density is lower than some of the new areas in Timberla, water park, more green spaces. After 10 years in Fort Mac, Woodbuffalo is my top pick.

Thickwood, hands down, is The Best place to live in Fort McMurray. Green space, Birchwood trail system, lots of schools, shopping & dining choices, YMCA, dental & medical centres including walk-in, close to site and downtown, quiet and clean all around.

Haha, my area. Best kept secret in Ft. Mc, I think we'll keep it that way.

I have drove around this whole town looking at every area roads go. I know the area I like the most "IF" I could find a nice house for sale in that area. I wonder if the place you are keeping "secret" is the same place I have decided I like the most after driving just about every road in town. Cool area, not mentioned much, but not alot comes up for sale.
